André Filipe Machado da Luz has got a BSc in Biochemistry (2019) with a final classification of 16 at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT-NOVA), and a MSc in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine (2022) at the same institution with a final classification of 17. He was member of Biochemistry Pedagogical Committee in 2018/2019 and acted as member of the students organizing committee for the FCT-NOVA open day - Expo-FCT in 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2022 he joined the Nanomedicine and the Human Genetics and Cancer Therapeutics groups at NOVA-FCT as a research fellow, under supervision of Professor Pedro Viana Baptista and Professor Alexandra Fernandes, where he studied the detection of mutations in the KRAS gene in pancreatic adenocarcinoma samples, in collaboration with Hospital da Luz. In the same year he applied for a PhD scholarship from the Science and Technology Foundation and was awarded funding (2022.12161.BD), being currently affiliated with the Human Genetics and Cancer Therapeutics@FCT-NOVA and Nanomedicine@FCT-NOVA groups as a PhD student in biotechnology. . He is also is co-author of 4 publications in international peer reviews journals .
